For a couple who had a passion for the countryside and wanted that perfect marquee wedding, Aldby Park was the perfect venue for them. Living in York, both Louis and Becky knew exactly what they wanted and the only challenge was finding it. Luckily for them they soon stumbled upon Aldby Park and fell in love with the venue after their first visit.

“We loved the scenery, it was the perfect place for a marquee with convenient parking. We loved that it was in the countryside, the gardens are absolutely stunning”

With the venue booked, they gave themselves just under a year to start planning everything. Having chosen to take on the task of planning everything from finding a marquee, to hiring toilets, the couple found it daunting yet fun at the same time. Much of their time was spent researching wedding suppliers and finding the best deals.

“The most challenging part was probably finding reasonably priced things! Aldby Park was incredible value for money!”

Something we always love seeing is how creative couples can be when it comes to creating that ideal theme for their big day. Loving the outdoors, they went for a classic rustic feel for their wedding. They also decided to take the plunge and put their hands to making as much of the decorations as they could! From floral centrepieces to personalised seating plans. By the time they had finished dressing the venue, it was simply stunning.

“We went for a rustic theme, we made a lot of decorations ourselves- the seating plan out of a pallet, decorative floral ladders to hang from the ceiling of the marquee, place holders out of wood from Becky’s uncle’s woodland in Scotland! We went for a relaxed feel, the bridesmaids and bride wore denim jackets. We had lawn games and hay bales. They went down a treat!”

Come the day of the wedding, the weather may have been a little gloomy but this was never going to get in the way of Louis and Becky from having the perfect day. From the perfect ceremony in the centre of York to arriving at Aldby Park to all of their family and friends, ready to throw confetti!

The highlight for us was the evening entertainment. Ness’ Monsters provided the live music which was fitting as Becky was part of this wonderful band. Guests got in to the spirit of the Ceilidh and danced the night away!

“We loved our service which was in the city centre. We also had a ceilidh in the evening which was so much fun!”

As The night drew to a close, the couple had one last surprise for everyone. As the happy couple left Aldby Park, they had arranged for all of the guests to create an aisle along the lawn. They all lit sparklers and the whole thing was a magical way to end the night.

Both Becky and Louis had their dream wedding day and with so many memorable moments, it was hard for them to pick just one.

“Our most memorable moment was arriving at Aldby Park to so many of our family and friends throwing confetti. It was really special”

Finally we asked them how they found Louisianna’s Weddings as their wedding provider.

“Lee and James were absolutely fantastic. The service Louisiannas provided was second to none. Couldn’t recommend them more highly. Professional, kind, understanding and helpful”

Thanks to all the wedding suppliers involved with making Becky and Louis’ wedding perfect.
